San Diego Remodeling Contractor Awards
As a kid, didn’t you just love getting awards? A finisher’s medal for completing the one-mile fun run, a trophy for being part of the league champion soccer team, a ribbon for your science project on bread mold, etc… It’s not surprising that even as adults we seek awards to demonstrate that we’re good at our chosen profession – in my case, as one of San Diego’s premier Kitchen and Bathroom remodeling contractors.
Almost every industry has local and national awards connected to it, and the San Diego remodeling industry is no different. In fact, there’s definitely an artistic/creative aspect to remodeling which sets different San Diego home remodel contractors apart. We break down walls with style!
CotY Awards
The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) gives out a variety of local and regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards to remodeling companies in the San Diego area. These regional awards are given to NARI, San Diego remodeling contractor members who have, according to the company’s website, “demonstrated outstanding work through their remodeling projects”. From San Diego Kitchen Remodeling to Bath Remodeling and even room additions in the San Diego area, there is a category for almost any type of remodeling a person can consider in San Diego area.
Specialty Home Improvement, a San Diego Remodel Contractor has been fortunate to win CotY awards for 2010, 2011, 2012 and, most recently, two in 2013 for “Best Bathroom Remodel between $30,000 – $60,00” and “Best Interior Residential Specialty Remodel”.
Chrysalis Awards
On a national level, the Chrysalis Awards recognize the nation’s best remodeling work in sixteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. Judges for the award in 2011 included editors and writers from Better Homes & Gardens, Woman’s Day’s Home Remodeling & Makeovers, Southern Living Magazine, and Sunset Magazine. Guess what, Specialty Home Improvement took home a Chrysalis too! In 2011, we nabbed a Chrysalis for top submission in the category of “Residential Bath under $40,000”.
Why Awards Are Important
Now, I didn’t just write this post to brag about the different remodeling awards that Specialty Home Improvement has won, but to educate homeowners in San Diego about the top prizes in the San Diego remodeling field. Not having a shelf full of awards doesn’t necessarily mean that a San Diego home remodeling contractor doesn’t produce award-winning work. Most of these awards require a significant amount of time, effort and money to submit to, and some San Diego home improvement companies merely decide to spend their resources elsewhere.
Those San Diego remodeling contractors that do have awards, however, have demonstrated that they not only produce quality work but that they have the confidence and belief in what they do to submit it for award consideration. Belief is a powerful thing. If a company believes it’s capable of performing award-worthy San Diego Kitchen and Bath remodeling projects, then that’s the perspective they bring to each client’s home.
